After spending a few hours in bed we awoke to have breakfast and await our Host and Tour director Katrina to pick us up. Katrina picked us up around 9.30 am and we came back to Katrina's & Costa's to drop off our cases before hitting the Mall. Now Katrina & Costa live at Mirdif and across the road from the Mirdif City Centre Shopping Centre. This shopping centre is huge and has a lot of shops fimiliar to Su.They appear to have a cross section of stores from the US, UK and even Australia.
Such names as,Forever 21, Sephore, Borders, Debenhams, Monsoon, Bhs. Freedom and Carrefour. Then you have the labels like Burberry, Jaeger, Juicy Couture, Versace Collection, Zara, Topshop, Pierre Cardin,Azzaro,Dorothy Perkins, Victorias Secret, Nine West, French Connection. The shopping centre is on two levels and has two food courts along with the Starbucks and Gloria Jeans. The shops open at 10 am and are open until 10 pm Sunday to Wednesday and open until Midnight Thursday to Saturday. Su found it a bit overwhelming.
Myself I cannot belive the extend of the mall and shops, what was even more interesting is the crowd does not build up until later in the evening. I have found Camera stores stocking a wide range of camera accessories as well as lenses and Camera bodies. The currency convertor on my iPhone is getting a work out. So far I have been restrained and have only bought a Blackrapid strap for my other camera.

All the pathos and irony of leaving one’s youth behind is thus implicit in every joyous moment of travel: one knows that the first joy can never be recovered, and the wise traveler learns not to repeat successes but tries new places all the time.

Burj Al Arab is already a name of its own. It has become a landmark in Dubai too. You can't miss it if you are there.
